Biswakarma Puja

Bishwakarma Puja is a day of joy for many, it is also one of the most joyous and memorable days for Hooghly Institute of Technology residents. This day is not only a festival day for the first, second or third year students studying, it is a special day for all H.I.T students i.e. former, new and current students.

On this day, every student comes to the college in the morning with new clothes and joins the pujo to make Bishwakarma pujo more successful.
Even on this day, forgetting the differences of the first year, second year or third year, all the students come together and try to paint a different picture. At the end of the puja, the next day, everyone gathers in a ceremony and paints a picture of a colorful procession which is truly incomparable.

PARAMPARA

The students of first year are welcomed to our HIT family by the programme named PARAMPARA , The Annual Fresher’s Welcome Programme of H.I.T. which is organised for them by the second year and third year students.

The programme is inaugurated by our respected and honorable principal sir of our institute Mr. Soumitra Saha. And a small cultural program is been performed by the second and third year students usually in the college ground as a welcome gesture. Students dance and our college band String breaker perform to entertain.

Teachers' Day

On the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan i.e 5th September we celebrate Teachers Day. Cultural programme is organised by the students of the institution in the orientation room or in room of civil 1st year. The room is decorate by the students after the classes are over by taking the permission of the Teachers. Students perform dance, music and recitations. Some of our respected teachers and non teaching staffs also perform as their wish.
